Ieuan is a Welsh/Australian who has been in practice since 1988. He graduated with honours from Queensland University of Technology. Since then he has completed further studies for registration in the United Kingdom, Ocular Therapeutics and Orthokeratology as well as extensive ongoing education and Behavioural and Developmental Optometry. He joined Buck and Todd Optometrists in September 1989 following locum work throughout South Australia and Queensland. Ieuan has a special interest in Specialty Contact Lens fitting, (keratoconus, scarred corneas, children’s aphakia), Orthokeratology, Children’s Vision, Reading Difficulties and Dyslexia. Ieuan is married and has four children. He enjoys travelling with his family and loves any opportunity to share a dad joke.
Alison Midgley (Vision Therapist)
Alison started work with Buck and Todd in the 1990’s before leaving to Mt Isa. She returned in 2017 and has become a qualified Vision Therapist. She enjoys working with children to help them overcome vision processing difficulties. She has contact lens experience and teaches contact lens handling, insertion and removal. Alison is a wife to Tony, and mother to two teenage boys. In her spare time she travels with her family for BMX tournaments.
Emily has been in the optical industry for 10 years. She also is a fully qualified Beauty Therapist and loves to use these skills as an advantage when it comes to frame selection for her patients. She has a great knowledge of what shapes and colours suit a person’s face shape and complexion. Due to these skills she is in charge of frame and stock purchasing. Emily is our front office manager and if there is anything in particular you are chasing, she can organise it. Emily is a huge animal lover and has a soft spot for all creatures great and small.
Tracey has come back into the optical industry after 30 years in retail sales. She has quickly re-developed skills in frame selection, accounting, lens materials and pre-testing of patients. Tracey is married with three adult children. Tracey enjoys her early gym sessions and encourages the staff to live a healthier lifestyle.
Natasha works casually as an optical dispenser and receptionist while she completes her Medical Sonography degree at University. Natasha has 7 years’ experience in frame selection and pre-testing of patients. The skills learnt in her studies in the medical field has given Natasha excellent knowledge of patient care. She loves making a child’s visit to Buck and Todd a fun and exciting new experience. Natasha enjoys participating in musical theatre productions and travelling.
