Contact lenses are available in a variety of different forms and the one which bests suits your eyes needs to be determined via topography, anterior eye health and tear film assessment, your prescription and your lifestyle.
The healthiest/safest modality of contact lens wear is daily disposable lenses. Wear once and throw away. Each day a new lens is place on your eye eliminating the need for ongoing care and maintenance of your lenses.
One day disposable lenses are available in a wide range of prescriptions and are the most popular lens wear modality. Disposable lenses also are available in fortnightly and monthly replacement modalities and many experienced contact lens wearers now wear night and day lenses inserting the lens at the beginning of the month and removing it only at the end of the month.
Contact lenses can correct virtually all prescriptive needs including hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism and presbyopia.
Contact lenses are suitable at any age, dependant on your dexterity and in children your maturity.
We specialise in RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) and (Large) scleral contact lenses. These hard lenses allow for healthier, crisper clearer vision and can correct for corneal irregularities such as keratoconus, or corneal grafts which glasses cannot. They can also be used to create a humidity chamber/shield for dry eyes.
Not all modalities come in every prescription and not all will be suitable for your eyes, but with careful analysis and with the right expectations we can fit just about any eye with contact lenses.
